Maldives and Rwanda Sign a Visa Exemption Agreement

The media is abuzz about the visa exemptions for Maldives and Rwanda. The big news has arrived for the citizens of Rwanda and Maldives. According to online reports, the governments of the two countries have inked an agreement on mutual exemption of visa requirements that allow for the exemption of visas for single or multiple entry, transit, or exit for the nationals of both countries for a period of 30 days.

The signing ceremony where the agreement was signed between the two countries was held in London. Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulla Shahid, on behalf of Maldives, and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Vincent Biruta, on behalf of Rwanda, signed the agreement.

Exchange of Good Wishes

Good wishes for both nations were exchanged at the ceremony by the two ministers after the agreement was inked.

Maldives minister thanked Rwanda for its enthusiastic commitment toward strengthening the present bilateral relations between both countries and also conveyed hope that this agreement would enhance avenues for engagement and people-to-people contact between Rwanda and Maldives.

On Rwanda’s part, the minister also expressed his country’s keen interest in strengthening the bilateral ties with the Maldives.

Maldives’s Mutual Visa Exemption Agreement with China

Last year, Maldives also inked a mutual visa exemption agreement with China that allows the citizens of Maldives to travel to China for tourist purposes without the need to obtain a visa. They will be able to stay in China for up to 30 days.
